The firm organised a round table in Madrid entitled ‘Digital transformation in the sector and its impact on health outcomes’.

The constant advance of new technologies is changing every social and work environment. Within the Life Sciences sector, this digital transformation has opened up a wide range of possibilities to make the day-to-day life of both healthcare workers and patients or users of the sector’s services easier and more efficient.

This was the premise under which the round table organised by Eurogalenus Executive Search and IE Business School’s Alumni Healthcare Club kicked off on Thursday 8 March.

The evening was attended by personalities from the sector, who took advantage of their speeches to mention the events held that day on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

Luis Truchado/ EuroGalenus, Ángel Fernández/ MSD, Concha Caudevilla / Otsuka and Sergio Rodríguez/ Pfizer.

The General Manager of MSD in Spain and Portugal, Ángel Fernández, was the first to speak. He stressed that the wealth provided by Digital Health lies in the use that professionals make of it to provide innovative solutions for patients.

Concha Caudevilla, CEO of Otsuka Spain, then presented several examples of what digital transformation is already achieving in the healthcare sector, such as a sensor that is ingested together with the medicine and allows the patient to be monitored, or an App that promotes the exchange of information between doctors.

The third speaker was Sergio Rodríguez, Managing Director of Pfizer Spain, who said that new health technologies will shorten clinical trial times and help deliver medicines faster. He also urged those present not to forget that the main objective of the application of these technological advances is to improve human health.
